Ngorongoro Day trip Tour Itinerary

Early in the morning your guide will pick you from your accommodation in Arusha or from Airport if you are just arrived, after short brief you will start safari passing Mto wa Mbu, Karatu to Ngorongoro. From the entrance you will enjoy fascinating nature with tropical forest smell, twinkling sound of birds and clouds in dense forest then descending downward the crater almost 600 more meters to enjoy wildlife variety. The Ngorongoro crater supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Also you will enjoy a dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the leopard, possibly you may luck to see big five game animals: lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant and rhinoceros. The park is perhaps best known for its flamingos, pelicans and cormorants but it is also the home for a few hundred other species of birds; it is therefore a paradise for ornithologists. Next to a great variety of birds, the “Big Game” can also be seen. With a bit of luck you might see elephants in the wooded regions and with even more fortune the tree-climbing lions. Indeed, it was thought for a long time that the Lake Manyara National Park is the only place where lions can be found with this atypical behaviour of climbing trees. Baboons and vervet monkeys are also found amongst the forested areas and in the more open spaces, giraffes nibble at the fresh leaves while the various types of antelopes common to the region browse for tasty shoots. After a picnic lunch, there will be more time for further game and wildlife watching before it is time to return to Arusha.

Arusha National Park Day trip safari

In the morning, we will collect you from your hotel in Arusha and take you to the Arusha National Park. The park has an incredible variety of fauna and flora, which cannot fail to impress. Hollywood also chose this region to film the movie “Hatari” in which Hardy Kruger starred alongside the legendary John Wayne. Your day trip will include a visit to the Ngurdo Crater. Buffaloes, waterbucks, giraffes, warthogs, zebras and baboons can be seen all year round as well as many different bird species. At the Momella Gate, an armed ranger will be waiting for you to accompany you on your walking safari that will give you the chance to experience the wildlife up-close. The views are truly breathtaking and with some luck you will see the view of Kilimanjaro. When you reach the waterfalls, you will see that they are more than 80 meters high. The pool at the bottom of the waterfall is an inviting place for a refreshing swim so don‘t forget your swimwear! After having en joyed the scenery, you slowly return with your guide to Mama Agnes home, where you will experience a traditional Chagga lunch. You also will have the opportunity to taste our local banana beer–definitely not to be missed! But that’s not all. Next the coffee tour awaits you. Here you will learn how coffee is cultivated, dried, roasted and further processed. You will also be invited to help with the grinding of the coffee, which is traditionally accompanied by Chagga songs and dances - a fun way to immerse yourself in the local culture. Before you say goodbye and return in the afternoon to Moshi, you can savor the coffee you made and appreciate the views of the surrounding montane rainforest.
